Diversity / Inclusion training
Nearly 85% of those entering the national workforce today are women and people of color. Considering this reality, diversity/inclusion training is especially valuable as organizations continue to grow.
“Michele uses a frank approach,” says Debbie Noe, Diversity Chairperson for the Central Iowa Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and a graduate of one of Michele’s workshops. “We didn’t listen to her give a lecture. The training is very participatory and provides a wonderful venue for learning.”
Michele’s training encourages an open, honest discussion. She believes that until people actually talk about the truths of diversity/inclusion in the workplace, they cannot learn.
“With Michele, be ready to be open and go with the flow. It is experiential, out-of-the-box thinking and thought-provoking,” comments Cristol Cook, Senior HR Consultant with Nationwide Insurance.
Michele’s trainings offer a unique chance to speak openly about several aspects of diversity/inclusion that are often ignored in traditional presentations. Topics include identity, prejudice, power, the “isms,” personal and institutional culture, and the five aspects of self-esteem.
“Michele gets rid of the taboos,” says Lori Hodges, Director of Human Resources at The Integer Group. “All types of diversity are discussed, including homosexuality and religious diversity. Her training provides a safe and comfortable place to stretch some boundaries.”
Michele has trained thousands of people on diversity/inclusion-related topics for more than 20 years in workshops across the United States and abroad.
“Michele brought to the training a ton of energy and knowledge and an obvious passion for increasing multicultural awareness in the world and in the workplace,” said Kathy Mandato, a DreamWorks Studio HR Director. “The interactive exercises really helped me think outside the box and connect my thoughts on diversity to what I was learning. Very valuable and powerful.
